Wi-Fi: Yes, fast.

Noise Level: Moderate

Coffee: Asi-Asi.

Bathrooms: Probably the nicest bathroom in Manhattan.

Seating: Plenty.

Hours: 7 a.m.- 10 p.m. !!!!!

Bookstore: No.

Patrons: Pin stripe polos and chinos.

Petite Shell sounds like where you’d find Marcel the Shell with Shoes On trying to sip a coffee out of a thimble. But, in fact it’s the type of coffee shop that plays remastered Queen and Duran Duran, where men in linen suits eat ‘cwassonts’ from tiny wooden cutting boards that pass as plates. The staff is pretty fucking adamant that you ‘put your dishes in the black bin by the bathroom’ before you leave, sheerly because they’re lazy. So, I docked one point for that and one point for uncomfortable chairs.

But, overall Petite Shell is a productive place to work with a reasonable number of outlets and overflowing cups of Upper East Side elitism. Its hours of 7 am to 10 pm are its biggest plus. Caffeine, late night working or chatting. That’s a win no matter how many bots shoes walk through the door.
